Bilfinger Noell receives order for a novel insertion device form EuXFEL GmbH

Bilfinger Noell GmbH has been awarded a contract for a superconducting undulator afterburner preseries prototype (S-PRESSO) from the European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility GmbH (EuXFEL). This device is a novelty and consists of two SCUs and a phase shifter in one module. It will be placed in the hard X-ray beamline of the European XFEL facility. The central goal is the demonstration of the application of SCUs in Free Electron Laser (FEL) facilities.
